On April 9, 2024, the United States Postal Service (USPS) filed with the Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC) to increase Market Dominant Mail postage for the second time this year. The increase is proposed to take effect on Sunday, July 14, 2024.
The USPS has 7.755% of available rate authority to use on classes of mail that are covering their costs, specifically First-Class, Marketing Mail, and Package Services. It also has 9.754% that can be applied to the non-compensatory class of Periodicals.
