Do you (or can you) link from your print magazine (via QR Code or digital watermark) to a product for purchase or to a donation page? If so, use this USPS promotion to earn a 3% discount on your entire magazine mailing!

Within the Emerging Technology promotion, the USPS rewards mailers for using “Mobile Shopping” technology to bring readers easily from your print piece to the product or donation page. Upon purchase, the physical product or a donation acknowledgement must be mailed to the reader.

Runs: Now through Dec. 31, 2024

Applies to: Marketing Mail (Standard), including Nonprofit. Periodicals Class is not eligible.

Here’s how it works:

  • Your mailpiece contains a mobile print technology (QR Code or digital watermark) that when scanned on a mobile device leads the user to a mobile-optimized website.
  • The user must be able to complete the product purchase.
  • The item must be fulfilled through the mail (via any carrier).

For charitable donations, qualifying mailings must include one of the following:

  • Hard copy certificate, thank you note, or voucher mailed to the purchaser.
  • A mailpiece containing a Business Reply Mail or Courtesy Reply Mail enclosure (aka donation envelope).

What you will need to enroll:

  1. A QR Code or digital watermark at minimum size of ½ inch by ½ inch.
  2. Directional text to accompany your technology trigger.
  3. Technology trigger set up to link to a URL where users can complete a shopping experience or make a donation.
  4. Lane Press will help you with the process and approvals, and you (the magazine publisher) will register for this promotion directly with the USPS.

Please note that the Mobile Shopping promotion with these current requirements will not be available in 2025 so now’s your chance to earn this 3% discount.
