If you mail over 4,000 copies of your magazine, it’s worth exploring whether co-mail can help you save on postage. Co-mail is a mail-preparation strategy that combines several magazine titles to create one consolidated entry into the mail stream, thereby maximizing sortation discounts. The finer the sortation, the greater the discount.
* BOTH Marketing Mail Class and Periodicals Class qualify to co-mail; whereas, only Marketing Mail qualifies for USPS postal promotions. *
The July postage rate increase includes the elimination of NDC (Network Distribution Center) entry/discounts, which translates to higher costs and slower delivery for mail. Co-mail copies will not be impacted by this change because most co-mail enters the mail stream at the SCF (Sectional Center Facility) level. This change creates yet another incentive to assess co-mail as a distribution option.
Lane Press partners with Enru Logistics and Postal Optimization to provide customers with industry-leading mail consolidation capabilities, including high density co-mail sortation, resulting in significant postage savings. In 2024 alone, we saved Lane customers nearly $1 million in postage costs using co-mail.
